Yeah it's got me stumped, a couple of months ago i got a friend to go through the whole install process of everything without me being involved. I just provided the files and he went and got the install procedures himself and he had the same issue.
I tried the alternative solution you said and that worked for one chart so i guess it will work for them all so i will apply that. I have run out of time and possibly a job, If i dont get this application updated to berlin from RAD 2010 soon it's been a year and a half. I have just been lucky that i have been able to keep developing our main application in RAD 2010 for now.
It's not the best solution but it is one that works so i am happy to accept that.
